"Mount Everest-The Peak of Heaven"

Mount Everest with 8848.86m height, is the highest mountain in the world. It is located between Nepal and Tibet of China in Mahalangur Himal Subrange of Himalayas. About 60 million years ago, it has been formed mainly with metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. Basically it is a fold mountain formed by upward force caused due to collision of Indian and Eurasian tectonic plates. The level of Mount Everest is rising about 44 mm every year.

The Tibetans named Mount Everest "QUMOLANGMA" meaning 'Holy Mother'.
Many other local names are used there like Chomolungma or Jo-mo-glang-ma, Dhaulagiri etc. The Nepalis also use a name "SAGARMATTHA" meaning 'The head in the  the great blue sky'. Thus the glory of Himalaya is known to many natives in many unique names,But in 1849,The British survey wanted to register one and unique name for the highest mountain In the earth. So Andrew Waugh, the British Surveyor General of India tried to find one name but he got so many local names used in those specific areas but didn't find any unique and largely used name. So he gave up the idea of keeping any vastly used name rather he planned to name the glory after British surveyor Sir George Everest. So in 1865, The Royal Geographical Society accepted the name and announced peak XV as Mount Everest.
In 1960 The Nepali Govt. Also reported the name SAGARMATTHA.
Due to low oxygen level, heavy ice, height, wind and many more obstacles Everest is a deadline mountain to climb. But the climbers and mountaineers never stepped back considering these. Till date over 4000 climbers reached the summit for over 9000 times. In the early times Nepal did not allowed any tourist to climb Everest from there side. So the only option left was Tibetan side and so the British mountaineers  made many efforts from the North edge route of Tibet to climb Everest. On 8th June 1924, GEORGE MALLORY and ANDREW IRVINE first reached the final summit of Everest but as they never returned so there are so many controversies about whether they really reached the top or not. Later in 1953, TENZING NORGAY and EDMUND HILLARY made the first attempt to climb mount Everest making it the official first record.
Now a question comes, how this mesmerizing white queen was actually formed? So, about tens of million years age the tectonic plates between India and Eurasia collided creating an upward force. Thus the landscape coiled and raised up creating the highest ever mountain top. The mountain is thus consists of sedimentary metamorphic and granite rocks.
Considering the rock formation Mount Everest is further divided into three formations - Qomolangma Formation (also known as the Jolmo Lungama Formation) , the NORTH COL Formation, and the RONGBUK FORMATION. These formations are separated by Detachments (low angle faults).
Mount Everest has thick carpet of ice all over the year. Previously a large area of the mountain was left bare but presently a little vegetable plantation has been started there. Beside that a type of moss grwos at about 6480 metres here. Another plant named as Arenaria grows at 5500 metres also. Many lichens and mosses are also observed at some high points. Some shrubs are found at the respectively lower points of Everes. At the green areas birch, juniper, blue pines, firs, bamboo and rhododendron grow.
Now coming to the wildlife there. Himalatan Tahrs , Red panda , Himalayan pika ,Black bear , marmets , snow leopard etc. animals with thick far and inhabitant winter accommodation system are seen on Everest.
Though psychologically impossible but research says some bar headed goose while migrating, flies over the mountain.
Euophrys omnisuperstesz, a non microscopic jumping spider, is also observed there. It is the highest non microscopic permanent residential on the Earth.
Human habitations are found here normally on the valleys of Himalaya. They do farming , herding and trade. Many indigenous groups are living here for a long. Among them the 'Sherpha' people are famous for mountain guides. Climbing Mount Everest is not posdible that much successfully without there valuable experience and guidance. They are so much accustomed with the low oxygen level and the hazards faced there.
From india many attempts has been made to conquer the mountain. Lt. Col Avatar S. Cheema is the first Indian to climb Mount Everest. Bachendri Pal is the first indian female and Arunima Sinha is the first amputee to scale the same.
68 years ago Sir Tenzing Norgay of Nepal and Sir Edmund Hillary created the history of climbing Mount Everest on 29 th May 11.30 AM. To commemorate their achievement, Nepal announced the day as International Everest Day. From 2008, the year Edmund Hillary passed away , this day is celebrated in Nepal's capital Kathmandu with memorable ceremonies and processions.
Thus Everest has been standing up for decades heading towards the eternity like the stairs of heaven protecting and glorifying the culture and the geology of the countries.
